Ajay Sandhu

Sales & Business Development Director

As my father founded the business in the early 60’s I have always known that Commonwealth Coaches would have my blood sweat and tears, I graduated from University in Business Studies and set out to re establish my fathers company.

My main goal is to run a successful business and continue my father’s legacy, I am a very happy talkative fun-loving man and thoroughly enjoy building new relationships with clients and passengers.

As driving has been in a part of me, I often find myself leaving my computer and desk aside to be on the open road driving the passengers engaging in conversation.

I hold all clients in great regard and am always willing to go the extra mile, I’m proud to say that Commonwealth Coaches cares greatly about the customer service and communication with all our clientele.

Rana Sandhu

Fleet Management & Maintenance Director

I spent my childhood learning everything there was to know about vehicles from my father (CC Founder) at the age of 11 onwards. I drove my first coach at 14 years old mid 1970’s practising in a large coach ground and have never looked back since. I was fixing coaches before I had even finished school.

I am extremely knowledgeable with the vehicles, and the business; you could say that the coaches run through my veins to my very core. My love for the industry and our Coach Company is unexplainable.

I am a very particular with the fleet and require all my vehicles to be in pristine condition, all maintained and in working order to an exceptional level. I do all my own in-house vehicle maintenance all certified with my team.

I am very proud that when I see Commonwealth Coaches on the road, as I have full confidence that the vehicle is in great condition and a great representation of what Commonwealth Coaches offers their passengers and clients.

Steven McSweeney

10 years’ service

Commonwealth Coaches gave me the opportunity to work for them and helped me to get my PSV licence. 10 years on and I am now part of the furniture and considering changing my name to Steve Commonwealth, I’m very proud to say I am now extremely knowledgeable in the business and have progressed to an Operations Supervisor as well as a driver.

I spend my days dealing with the clients, driving and meeting the passengers, I am great at multitasking and strive to deliver the best service whether it be within the office or out on the road.

I wanted to become a Coach Driver due to enjoying helping and taking care of passengers, I have excellent geographical knowledge of the country as well as how to handle large vehicles. It’s a great pleasure to work for Commonwealth Coaches and be part of such a professional company.

Barry Smith

I have been driving busses and coaches for 50 years, I ran my own business for 30 years, I love driving and working with people. I love the freedom of driving and the constant interaction and conversation with passengers, being a part of their journey and helping them to visit new places.

Working on the roads for the last 50 years it is fair to say I know my way around the country very well, I especially enjoy driving to places of interest such as national trust places, old heritage destinations and picturesque country roads.

I have worked with Commonwealth Coaches for the last 9 years, since retiring I have worked part time for 3 years and can say I thoroughly enjoy my job and work colleagues.
